During the GACC registration process, if there are any changes to the information, what additional documents need to be submitted?

The GACC (General Administration of Customs of China) registration is an important step for businesses that want to export goods to China. However, in some cases, the information initially submitted may change, which requires submitting additional documents to keep the information up-to-date and accurate.

Article 19 of Regulation 248 specifies that “During the registration process, if there are any changes, additional documents must be submitted, including:

1. A comparison table showing the details of the changed items.

2. Documents related to the changed information.

GACC can amend the registration information if it is found that the information has changed.

**Additional precautions**

Regulation 248 states that if there are changes involving relocation of production facilities, change of legal representative, or change of the registration number issued by the regulatory authority of the exporting country/region (Located country/region register number), the following must be done:

Relocation of production facilities

For food production facilities exporting to China, if the actual factory location is moved, that is considered relocation of the production facilities. However, a change in the working location of the person in charge is not considered relocation of the production facilities.

Change of legal representative

If there is a change in the actual overseas business owner, it is considered a change of legal representative. However, if the actual overseas business owner remains the same, but there is a change in the representative who manages the business on behalf of the owner, the business operator can apply to change the representative information. GACC will assess whether such a change affects the control and management of food safety and health, and will then approve or not approve the change accordingly.

Submitting these additional documents will ensure that your company’s GACC registration information remains accurate and up-to-date, which will facilitate smooth importation of goods into the Chinese market. If you have any further questions, you can consult with experts in the field of import-export.
